 Randall Jacops President and Chief Executive Officer Randy Jacops was named chief executive officer in 2006. Previously, Mr. Jacops was the VP and GM responsible for Trilogy Technology Group, Trilogy’s enterprise software business unit. Upon acquiring Versata, Trilogy combined Trilogy Technology Group and Versata to form a single business unit, Versata Enterprises, focused on enterprise software and devoted to customer success and innovation. With the combination, Mr. Jacops became CEO and Versata became a stand-alone company.
Versata Enterprises comprises a number of business units, including Versata Software, Inc., Versata, Inc., Artemis International Solutions Corporation, Gensym Corporation, and Nextance, Inc. Mr. Jacops is CEO of each of the portfolio businesses. Versata Enterprises is one of the fastest-growing software companies in the world and continues to distinguish itself by building an incomparable intellectual property portfolio supporting a wide variety of solutions targeted at solving the most complex business problems.
During Mr. Jacops’ tenure at Trilogy,he served in a variety of operational and strategic roles encompassing consulting, engineering, finance, and general operations. Before his recent assignment as VP and GM of Trilogy Technology Group, he served as the COO of Trilogy’s Automotive and High-Tech business units. Throughout his tenure, Mr. Jacops has championed and implemented Trilogy’s Customer Success Program at a variety of Global 1000 corporations and is excited to bring the same success commitment to all of Versata Enterprise’s customers.
Prior to Trilogy, Mr. Jacops was a partner with Deloitte Consulting, specializing in business transformation initiatives for global corporations in the manufacturing and technology industries. Mr. Jacops was a founding partner of Deloitte’s Shared Services business, where his team grew a start-up business to a $50M service line, one of the fastest growing and successful endeavors within Deloitte. Mr. Jacops started his career as a financial analyst with Ford Motor Company, where he performed a wide variety of jobs, from Finance Staff to plant-floor analysis.
 Christopher Smith Vice President of Operations  Chris Smith was named Vice President, Operations in 2006, and as such oversees all engineering, consulting, marketing, and IT activities for all of Versata’s business verticals. Previously, Mr. Smith was the GM responsible for Trilogy Technology Group’s Financial Services and Consumer Public Business Units. Upon acquiring Versata, Trilogy combined Trilogy Technology Group and Versata to form a single business unit, Versata Enterprises, focused on enterprise software and devoted to customer success and innovation. With the combination, Mr. Smith became VP of Operations.
Mr. Smith has served in a variety of operational and strategic roles for Trilogy since coming on board in 1996. Before his assignment as GM of Trilogy Technology Group’s Financial Services and Consumer Public Business Units, he served as the Sr. Director of operations for Trilogy’s Financial Services, Technical Solutions, and High-Tech business units. Mr. Smith has a long track record of delivering customer success and driving value for global 2000 companies for over the last 15 years.
Prior to Trilogy, Mr. Smith was head of Information Systems and Application Development for several leading handheld computer manufacturers as well as instrumental in driving technology changes within the public sector. His experience in the manufacturing and software industries provide the executive team valuable insights and experience in building customer, shareholder, and employee value.
 Frank Kopas Vice President of Sales Frank Kopas leads sales and the customer acquisition process for Versata. He joined Versata in 2005 and was responsible for sales in the financial services sector before being appointed Vice President of Sales.
Frank has over 15 years of successful sales experience in enterprise software and services. Throughout his career, he has established and executed sales plans that grew revenues profitably. Frank is a critical contributor on the executive team in providing customer trends and needs for strategic and operational decisions. In addition, he has been instrumental in driving new solution initiatives that anticipate future target markets and is responsible for the revenue growth of Versata.
Prior to Versata, Frank was Regional Sales Director at iPhrase Technologies (acquired by IBM). His career also includes leadership sales roles for Hewlett-Packard, Banter Systems and Brio Technology. Frank received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kentucky and holds an MBA from The Ohio State University.
 Sean Fallon Vice President of Finance  Sean Fallon is Versata’s Vice President of Finance and acting Chief Financial Officer. Sean is responsible for the global financial operations of Versata and brings extensive experience in corporate finance, financial operations, planning, investing, M&A, and restructuring. Sean joined Trilogy in 1999 and has served in several financial leadership positions, including Treasurer and Vice President of Internal Finance. During his tenure, Sean’s leadership has been critical in executing Trilogy’s commitment to profitable and sustained growth.
Prior to joining Trilogy, Sean served as Vice President of M&A for a NYSE financial services company. Previously, Sean was a manager with Price Waterhouse where he specialized in business turnarounds and crisis management.
Sean holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, where he also completed his undergraduate studies in Accounting and Honors Business. Sean remains involved with the University of Texas and serves as an advisor to its business school.
 Kaoru Nakamura Executive Vice-President, Japan
Kaoru Nakamura is Executive Vice President of Artemis International Solutions Corporation and President of Artemis International Ltd. Japan.
She has been working for Artemis more than 15 years. Her rich experience and knowledge in the Project Management area has been a driving force for Artemis, and the project management market in Japan for a long time. She played a key role in establishing the Project Management Certification Center, and has been recently working actively to open the World Seminar of the PM Society. She has been a guest lecturer of the PMCC, PM Society, Waseda University MBA course, Meiji University and many others. Kaoru is still acting as a principal consultant advising many organizations on how to evolve in the area of project governance and program management. She has worked in multiple industry sectors including IS/IT, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, Telecommunication, and Engineering.
Ms Nakamura holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature and an MBA.
